Just so you all know, the fire was likely caused by a private electric company, that essentially has a monopoly here, and could have been prevented if they shut off power in that area for only a few hours.
They chose not to because they wanted to maximize profit potential. This was more important to them than the entire town of Paradise.
No Corporation is your friend. No Corporation will ever care about the good of others unless it is profitable to do so.

isnt the point of a museum to preserve history though? id prefer something be in a controlled environment than outside in the elements.
The moai have been standing JUST fine in the open in the island for literal centuries. Believe it or not, the Rapa Nui are NOT stupid; they know their island, how to live in it, and what materials and treatment to those materials do or do not last in the island they’ve called their home for ages. The moai are MADE to be “outside in the elements”.
And preserved for whom? I’m sure my ancestors wouldn’t feel it’s preservation to have a LIVING piece of their culture stolen by colonizers and kept away from them all this fucking long when I assure you, no one asked for their permission to take it in the first place.
That’s not fucking “preserving”, that’s just fucking stealing.
I work at a place that sells these. The kind you want are particulate respirators/filters. These are the real deal.
I had to deal with some really bad wildfire smoke in my region last summer. So bad they closed the national parks. (which is rare here) (Side note, my brother wanted to go freaking HIKING in it…like HONEY, that’s how you die.) and it wasn’t as bad as what I’m seeing w/ Cali. So stay safe and protect your lungs.
