An interesting thing about VeggieTales is that the Bible stories it retells are mostly restricted to the Old Testament, because the creator made a promise to his mother that he would never depict Jesus as a vegetable

I demand to know what Christ’s veggiesona is

There’s a toy set that depicts nativity

Jesus is a carrot

no, you ignorant peon, that is laura the carrot’s baby brother PLAYING jesus in a nativity scene. laura is playing the angel, at the top. if you knew anything about anything at all, you would know that these are characters from the veggie tales tv show depicting the nativity. you can see larry the cucumber, pa grape, and mr. lunt are playing the wise men, you brainless sack of excrement. you absolute buffoon. you know nothing. don’t fucking try me.

the true plot twist of gravity falls is that stanley is the smart twin and ford is the biggest dumbass in 52 dimensions

Stan: I’ve run a very successful business for thirty years while rebuilding a portal with one third of the blueprints and no help from a demon.

Ford: It says not to summon him but he called me smart so he can’t be that evil

Note to vacationing non-Americans: while it’s true that America doesn’t always have the best food culture, the food in our restaurants is really not representative of what most of us eat at home.  The portions at Cheesecake Factory or IHOP are meant to be indulgent, not just “what Americans are used to.”

If you eat at a regular American household, during a regular meal where they’re not going out of their way to impress guests, you probably will not be served twelve pounds of chocolate-covered cream cheese.  Please bear this in mind before writing yet another “omg I can’t believe American food” post.

Also, most American restaurant portions are 100% intended as two meals’ worth of food. Some of my older Irish relatives still struggle with the idea that it’s not just not rude to eat half your meal and take the rest home, it’s expected. (Apparently this is somewhat of an American custom.)

“Don’t fight hate with hate” is an example of subtle gaslighting, where our legitimate hurt & anger at the injustices we suffer is being equated to the bigotry & abuse of our oppressors.

Being angry doesn’t mean you are being hateful, it means you love yourself enough to get upset at your own mistreatment.
