I literally wrote an entire gdoc chronicling the history of the gravity falls fandom but here’s a few of my favorites not already mentioned:

• “mr. pyramid”/object head bills before dreamscaperers aired or we actually knew his name or anything about him
• also “ms. star”/object head versions of the star on top of gideon’s tent because we thought they might be a character too
• when slenderman was photoshopped into the background of a screenshot from legend of the gobblewonker and tons of people thought it was legit
• “supernatural” by ken ashcorp
• zombie robbie theories
• “mystery kids”/crossovers with paranorman, coraline, psychonauts etc
• that time a bunch of new shorts premiered in russia before anywhere else so the fandom was suddenly SCRAMBLING to find anyone who knew russian and could translate/sub them because we were so starved for new content during the hiatus between the seasons (which lasted exactly 364 days btw)
• “grunkle4grandpa”/theories that stan was actually the twins’ grandfather
• the fact there was actually discourse and theories over characters’ number of fingers until around the time not what he seems aired even though a crew member debunked the finger thing as a meaningless character design quirk via a reddit AMA in fall 2012, just a few months after the show premiered
