context: mind melds are stigmatized in the years of ent because ”vulcans are trained to repress their emotions, not share them” and therefore vulcans who practice mind melds are seen as unacceptable and ”undesirable members of society” and along with this there is also a disease that can only be transferred through a mind meld and so anyone who has that disease is immediately identified as someone who has taken part in that unacceptable behavior (oh yes it’s a heavy metaphor) t’pol however contracted the disease when she was forcibly engaged in a mind meld with another vulcan who wanted her to stop repressing her emotions (because he was part of a group that has left vulcan and abandoned those teachings) and even though the vulcan high command would be more receptable to treating her disease if she told them that she didn’t willingly engage in the mind meld, she refuses to do so because she thinks they’re wrong in their prejudice to which i can only repeat: HELL YEAH T’POL
