Now hiring: Season 2 writers!

iriscasefiles:

Award-winning sci-fi
audio drama The Strange Case of Starship Iris is looking for talented writers, preferably based on Chicago, to
join the writers’ room. No previous audio drama experience is required. We’re
looking for creative, collaborative writers who are excited to worldbuild in a
sci-fi universe. Writers of color, transgender writers, nonbinary writers,
and/or queer writers are highly encouraged to apply.

Writers will be working closely with Jessica Best (creator and head writer). They will meet twice a month for two
months to help develop the Season Two storyline. Each writer will then script
3-5 full-length episodes and attend group read-throughs, collecting and acting
on feedback before completing the final round of edits.

We wish to foster a work environment that is collaborative,
inclusive, and fun, where healthy dissent is encouraged in the spirit of
improving the quality of the show. We have a zero tolerance policy on racism,
misogyny, ableism, homophobia, biphobia, acephobia, and transphobia.

Writers will receive a small stipend for
participating in brainstorming sessions, as well as $60 per finished episode.
(Episodes are, on average, roughly 40 minutes long.)

About the Show
