“It’s hard to find good (insert minority here) actors.”
It wasn’t hard for the creators of Wolf 359 to find an Asian actor for the role of Quan Hui.
It wasn’t hard for the creators of Under Pressure to find a nonbinary actor for the role of Sydney Peterson.
It wasn’t hard for the creators of Night Vale to find actors of color/queer actors for their characters.
If audio dramas with low budgets can have good actors who are LGBTQ and/or of color there’s literally no excuse for Hollywood studios that have tons of resources at their disposal not to do the same.
You can’t even see the actors when you’re listening to a podcast, meaning there is absolutely NO excuse for other visual mediums!! If podcasts can do it, so can hollywood!
