i guess one thing that bothers me is aces saying that learning the term asexual gave them a huge sense of relief and therefore they understand the experience of having a marginalized sexuality, because…. i knew the term “lesbian” for a long time. i knew it because when i was 10 kids in my class threw it at an unpopular girl and it was an accusation, and i knew it because that’s what everybody called the gym teacher with short hair when they were saying she shouldn’t be in the locker room. i knew it was a bad thing, and finally admitting i was one gave me no instant relief. it felt like resigning myself to something. idk, visibility is a double-edged sword. sure, people know that gay men and lesbians exist… but they also know they hate us.

yall are really wild u know that. hate to tell u, but unless u have a heteroromantic and heterosexual lifestyle, heteros gonsta oppress whatever identity is not the norm. stop acting like same-gendered attracted people have a fucking monopoly on oppression, realize that everyone in the LGBT+ community has different experiences, and stop treating this shit like its the oppression Olympics when sane people got more shit to worry about.

i also felt relief by founding out i was bisexual, but not because “oh because im free from oppression if i date dudes!” more fucking like “i finally know who i am and can identify myself as such”. thats all that aces mean. yall really want to fucking say that ace people dont face oppression when if my friend came out her pastor father would fucking throw a huge fit. the same would fucking happen to me as a bisexual person, with my Uber Catholic father.

You can put any stigma on any identity that isn’t pure Heteroromantic Heterosexual cis. Sorry to tell u, dumbass, but u dont get to hold the fucking torch of oppression just bc ur a lesbian. Thats the whole fucking point of LGBTQ spaces is so that we can share our experiences. just because someone doesn’t experience same sex attraction 100% of the fucking time doesn’t mean that they won’t be treated like shit by hets.
