A leaked email revealed that SONY pictures (a total garbage company by the by) wrote in the contract that the MCU’s Spider-man had to be white and straight. This we actually fully know to be true, and Stan Lee had nothing to do with this. Stan Lee doesn’t have any say in what the movies do, considering Marvel has sold of the rights to make movies with the characters to different companies.

Stan Lee said that he’d rather have new characters be of colour or have different sexual orientations than have the ones already written as something else changed. I’m not gonna defend that statement considering there’s still some layer of ehh in the context of it, but it’s damn far away from what you’re accusing him of.
