what i mean: i understand that the beatles were a very significant part of pop culture and did in fact influence a lot of artists but im tired of people acting like they invented rock music as if the genre wasnt already popular in the 50s and largely invented by black people who are pretty much ignored by the classic rock fandom, not to mention that the overall aggression and, in some cases, superiority complex of the beatles fandom steers me away from them even though i do enjoy their music. music has been changed and revolutionized in plenty of ways before the beatles and will continue to change in the future and, while i understand the importance of the beatles, i dont think the level of praise they get is completely necessary considering the amount of recognition given to other important musical figures
